Action Required: Necessary Office365 modification in ImageCapture

Posted: 26 August 2022

Due to the phasing out of Basic Authentication for Office 365, ImageCapture has been modified to include the ability to use OAuth authorization. Microsoft will stop supporting Basic Authentication in the second half of 2022. If you are using ImageCapture to import or send emails through Office 365, you must replace the configured Microsoft Exchange Email Account with a Microsoft Graph Email Account before the first of October.

A Microsoft Graph Email Account uses OAuth for authorization with Office 365. For this, it is necessary to create an app registration in Microsoft’s Azure portal. In this portal, all necessary permissions are defined and data is recorded that is required for OAuth from ImageCapture. If you are working with an older version of ImageCapture (older than 8.11.1), the software must also be updated.

You can also watch the video below, in which we show you how you can make the changes in the ImageCapture environment.
